FRA vs POL, FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022: Mbappe set up the opening goal Giroud scored at the stroke of half time before finding the back of the net himself twice in the second half.
Defending champion France beat Poland 3-1 to reach the quarterfinals of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 at the Al Thumama Stadium on Sunday.
Following a through cross from Kylian Mbappe, Olivier Giroud opened the scoring for Les Blue in the 44th minute with a left-footed effort that found the bottom right corner.
After Ousmane Dembele discovered him alone on the edge of the box, Mbappe scored his own goal with a right-footed curler to make it 2-0 for France and beat a diving Wozciech Szczesny of Poland.

Marcus Thuram assisted Mbappe on his second goal, which was a right-footed curling drive that found the top-right corner in the first minute of extra time.
With his goal, Giroud surpassed Thierry Henry’s previous record of 51 goals for the national team, but Mbappe now holds the outright lead in the race for the Golden Boot with five goals.
In the ninth minute of extra time, Robert Lewandowski converted a penalty to score Poland’s consolation goal.
On Friday, France will play either Senegal or England in the quarterfinal.
